What it means for mineral owners: If you own minerals in Sections 9, 16, 21 or 28 of 155N-102W, the four Stranded Cat permits are the news. A permit isn't a well yet, but it's usually the first sign a unit is going to be drilled, and that's when lease offers and buyer letters tend to show up. If you're in 161N or 162N-103W in Divide County, read the Koda spacing order before you sign anything, because a bigger unit changes your share of each well. And if you're paid on any of those five Burke County wells, expect your checks to come from Palo Alto Energy, so watch for a new division order and compare the decimal with your last stub.
