Friday's report 19626 had one new permit, a Koda Resources well in Divide County on the same pad and in the same eight-section unit as the Ale well whose spacing changed on Thursday. Koda, Foundation Energy Management and Murex Petroleum renewed 14 permits between them, XTO Energy cancelled two McKenzie County permits, and a Hess well in Williams County came off the confidential list. The rig count fell from 39 to 37.

The active rig count was 37, down 2 from the prior report.

What it means for mineral owners: If you're in the Koda unit in 161N and 162N-103W, Thursday's report moved the Ale 2335-4BHN into that 6,400-acre unit, and Friday's Ale 2335-2BHN permit puts another well in the same unit, so it looks like Koda is lining up more than one well there. A renewal just keeps a permit alive for another stretch, so the eight Bock wells in 161N-102W and the five Trotter wells in 145N-102W are still on the books, but a renewal doesn't tell you when drilling will start. If you own in Section 15 of 153N-96W, the two Harley Federal cancellations mean those locations are off the list for now.
